Quite Great Publicity offer an effective, personalised and targeted approach to online marketing to an area currently overrun with ‘spam’.
We offer a personalised service involving;
- Adding ‘friends’ on sites such as myspace and facebook from targeted sectors, focusing on but not limited to, age, sex, lifestyle and above musical taste. This allows us to contact, specifically, users likely to have a positive interest in the artist. We have a working knowledge of numerous other social networking sites although an approach using Myspace and Facebook is, in our opinion, the best option.
- Using facebook we are able to create a personal relationship with many fans and friends. Due to the ‘no spam’ rules at facebook accounts cannot be created for bands or companies etc. we therefore open accounts for specific artists/band members and interact in this way with friends. The facebook audience is far more receptive to musical artists as they do not see this as a form of spam. We have had success personally corresponding with friends through facebook using a ‘behind the scenes’ approach where the friend is told ‘exclusively’ about details of the upcoming single/album/video etc.
- Personally contacting friends, fans and likely fans through social networking sites, ‘chatting’ as well as mentioning the single in order to give the impression of a ‘personal touch’ from the artist.
- Monitoring of ‘hits’, ‘plays’ and ‘views’ on various video and audio sites, including youtube, google video, and myspace.
- Uploading of videos and tracks to numerous and appropriate sites including, youtube, myspace, google video, facebook, real networks, launch, yahoo.
- Blog pages – blogs create a unique opportunity to showcase material and create a positive buzz around an artist. We will contact established ‘bloggers’ in the same way as any other reviewer to get reviews as well as create self-generated blogs with information about the artist and reviews of the single. This also creates more hits in major search engines, eventually creating traffic to a main site or myspace page. The major blogging sites have high traffic and the correct use of ‘keywords’ and ‘tags’ allow us to tap into this traffic. We are able to track hits on these sites to monitor interest and readers.
- Blog pages can also be ‘pinged’ and submitted to RSS feeds, this is similar to a score line on a television sports channel, internet users keep RSS readers open and information constantly scrolls across them, linking to content they have previously added or subscribed to. This allows blog readers to return to sites as soon as they have been updated.
- Knowledge of html code allows us to embed images, links, videos and music tracks/players. We can also design and edit blog and myspace pages specific to the artist or under any guise required – This can also be used when posting myspace comments or sending messages to friends, allowing us to include images, links and more.
- We can also offer a ‘intensive’ myspace campaigns through the use of ‘Bots’ and ‘Spiders’ to reach maximum ‘activity’ levels per day, this technique results in deletion of the offending account by the site, but can reach a larger, non-targeted audience before this happens.
- An understanding of Wikipedia scripting allows us to create and edit pages on the site, create links from other appropriate pages and more. As Wikipedia is comprised of user generated content we are able to adopt the persona of a fan and write as positive of a page as is required.
- We can create blog accounts with numerous links for an artist to edit, this can be very effective when an artist is on tour or is preparing to release something – they can produce a daily diary of information, allowing readers and fans a ‘behind the scenes’ look at the music industry. These entries can be added by the artist or can be emailed to us and we can upload to the site as required.
- Blogs can be both ‘official’ and ‘unofficial’ meaning that blog sites offer two services, one must be paid for and offers more opportunity for html editing and removes adverts from the page – appearing more professional. The other has advertisements and looks less professional – more like something a fan could produce. Blog site subscriptions are not necessarily expensive but they offer two different approaches to writing.
- We have accounts with numerous websites allowing us to submit links for ‘video of the day’ as well as viral link and viral video submission pages, which, when a video or link is accepted, attract a large amount of traffic daily.
- Forums – we have multiple accounts on a number of influential musical artists’ forums and are therefore able to plug artists on these forums both under the guise of fans or in some cases being obvious about an involvement with the client can be just as effective. We have built a ‘persona’ on many of these sites allowing for more of our posts to be taken seriously – as opposed to a ‘serial spammer’ who makes numerous accounts, posts one advertisement and never returns to the site.
- We have the ability to simply pitch via email; features, tracks, stories, videos, etc. to popular web portals simply through the corporate addresses – just the same as pitching to a journo at a magazine/newspaper. This is successful as we are able to contact the editor/ writer most appropriate for whichever area of the site we want to pitch to.
- We are able to set up pages and include on other sites ‘video blogs’ this requires the artist/ band to make videos (as frequently as required) and using various video sharing websites and html coding we are able to upload these videos to various hosts and embed these blogs on numerous sites and normal blog pages. These videos can be as polished or ‘amateur’ as desired, viewers are likely to respond to the image presented by a single member of a band or an artist giving their daily/weekly etc. thoughts on recording/ touring/ filming or whatever it may be.
- Webcams provide another interesting aspect to a campaign, allowing for viewers/ fans to observe ‘life in the studio’. Studio webcams are proven in popularity with larger acts and are a very low maintenance option, once a webcam has been set up it simply runs until it is turned off.
- Getting advertising through web portals can be increased by paying for advertising – being a ‘sponsored result’ results in appearing at the top of any appropriate search – Depending on the ‘tags’ used this can be quite inexpensive.
