Quite Great Student Media Marketing
Student media is one of the most versatile and dynamic mediums we can approach. If you as an artist or brand are a tad off the wall, and perhaps some of the more conservative main stream outlets need persuading that you don’t bite… building up a student following is a great way to build momentum and convince other outlets that you aren’t so scary.
Or If you’ve had no previous exposure, student media LOVES to be able to say “oh we knew about them YEARS ago”. They are keen to hop on board nice and early with any artist or brand, do that they can say they liked you before you were cool. Huge artists like R.E.M and OutKast both found their way to success through student support.
Being added to student playlists, such as a fresher’s playlist, or a new music playlist, will mean you will be heard throughout campus during the day and in the campus clubs at night. On top of this, student media at many universities hosts their own live sessions, interviews, gigs, and even the odd festival, such as the Zig Zag festival in Norwich. All of this content is directly aimed at, and created by, the most social media savvy demographic there is. Tagging, retweeting and liking to show support to both you and as artist or brand, and their friends as content creators.
At Quite Great we have members of the team who focus their energy into maintaining good relationships with all kinds of student media, print, radio, and podcasts, up and down the country. Who will reach out on your behalf to any publication that they think your sound or brand would be right for, recommend you to any playlist they think you are a good fit for, and offering live sessions to spread your sound and social media reach to a young and engaged audience.
