Our range of books have been varied and exciting. Early projects included the music biography written by Paul Gallagher – it documents the life of his two siblings – Liam and Noel. In addition, this entailed all key broadcast interviews through to print media plus coordinating an extensive UK ‘signing’ tour. Others included the amazing steampunk meticulously crafted book by Gary Nicholls, a British photographic conceptual artist. Gary’s conceptualised neo-gothic fairy story was eponymously based on the Victorian fairground attractions of The Imaginarium.
Other awesome books included Stevie Wonder’s biography and Macmillan’s Encyclopaedia of Popular Music. Plus, the Virgin Illustrated History of Rock and How to De-Clutter Your Life. Our variety of clients is exciting and original from a Steampunk tale of intrigue and mystery to a fitness, health and wellness book! I guess the first question is – how do I organise a book tour? The organising of book tours can take the form of ‘meet and greet’ signing sessions through to Q&A interview experiences. The most important thing is to make these noteworthy so the crowds follow and get involved.
Clearly, with the growth of e-books, kindles and such, the dynamic of creating media awareness for books has adapted and changed. But in fact, for the Quite Great team, this has meant an even closer allegiance to the work we have done for musicians. Nowadays, a book launch takes the shape of what has always felt like the launch of a musician’s new release! Resulting in an online centre of activity that just cannot be ignored.
Quite Great UK Book PR are proud to be involved in the Book Promotion for the historical art court case novel FALLING ROCKET. This gripping novel is all about the Battle for Modern Art between the legendary United States artist James Whistler and the renowned art critic John Ruskin. The book is written by Paul Thomas Murphy.

As The New York Times Book Review outlined “The painting that so inspired Ruskin’s ire supposedly conjured a fireworks display, though as the darkest and moodiest of Whistler’s ‘nocturnes’ it was as close to pure abstraction as art had yet ventured. The art world was agog. The avant-garde minimalism of Whistler’s work would eventually find its time, yet the gloomy Ruskin was the most unexpectedly prescient. An entirely enjoyable read.”
Firstly, the aim of Book PR and the work Quite Great do for their clients is to focus on the most appropriate and intriguing aspects of any book is. Secondly, to highlight what it is that will drive media interest. To this end, whether in the UK or as in Paul Thomas Murphy’s case, an author based in the USA. We help book publishers with PR and Promotion. We also work with authors who are just finding their feet and looking to have a Book PR Team behind them. A Book PR team who will think laterally and help with direct outreach to broadcast, print and online media.
Quite Great is proud to manage Book PR and marketing for Jodi Taylor, the acclaimed author whose bestselling novels have captivated readers worldwide. Jodi stands as a testament to the power of perseverance and creativity. She is known primarily for her hit series “The Chronicles of St. Mary’s”. Taylor’s rise to literary prominence is an inspirational story of determination and passion for history and storytelling.
Taylors’ journey to becoming a bestselling novelist was not straightforward. Before embracing a full-time writing career, she was in the RAF and went on to various local government roles. It was her love for history, coupled with a fascination for time travel, that ultimately fuelled her transition from an avid reader to a celebrated writer.

Having retired from her role as Facilities Manager for North Yorkshire Libraries she moved to Turkey to run a hotel with her brother. While staying there she challenged herself to write a book. In 2013, when she was 60, Taylor self-published her first novel, “Just One Damned Thing After Another”. This introduced readers to the adventures of the St. Mary’s Institute of Historical Research, where historians explore major historical events in contemporary time. The success of the first book led to a publishing deal with Accent Press, and later with Headline (part of the Hachette Group). Jodi Taylor’s rise to fame was marked by her distinctive voice and ability to seamlessly merge historical fact with science fiction and adventure.
However, fans may not be aware that Taylor’s love of history only came about when she took her A-Levels at night school in her 40s. The building blocks of the St Mary’s series are harvested from her own life experiences. The chaos and mayhem of St Mary’s comes from her time working of local government – all be it, with less bad language. Her time in the RAF provided the basis for some of the time-travelling procedures and protocols used in the books.
Her inspirational writing career is marked by her prolific output. She has authored over 25 novels, including standalone works and other series. In addition, she has written numerous short stories and novellas. Every new release is eagerly anticipated by her global fanbase. Her books have been translated into multiple languages, expanding her reach and impact.
Currently residing in Gloucestershire, Taylor continues to write – finding new plotlines from researching historical events and her boundless imagination. The latest release promises to deliver the same excitement and adventure that her readers have come to love. While Jodi’s transformation from retiree to international best-selling author may seem as much a fantasy as the adventures she writes about, it is very much real. Not only that, but it is a living testament to pursuing your dreams no matter your age.

One of our clients in the Book PR promotions is novelist Christopher Kerr and his latest novel, ‘The Barbarossa Secret‘. A contemporary human drama telling the story of a massive political cover up during World War II.
The book’s plot stems from the darkest days of the Second World War, giving way to an incredible story of a cover-up with staggering implications. The death of a man in Bavaria in 2020 is the first in a long line of dominos to fall. The story involves a journalist searching to uncover the truth of his family’s very personal involvement in one of the greatest hidden episodes of the war. A highly secret pact is revealed between Nazi Germany and the Allies. A pact that few ever knew, could ever acknowledge, or even dare speak of.
Through our initiatives, PR contacts, press releases and passion for the author’s work – the PR grows. PR initiatives are all maximised for our clients including Editorial features to competitions, radio interviews to social media campaigns.

Gary Nicholls is a British photographic conceptual artist. He is creator and author of The Imaginarium Trilogy – a 450-image fine art story. The book tells an intricate, fantastical, dark, but ultimately beautiful steampunk story. All achieved through the medium of fine art images.
Our main focus for Gary’s PR campaign was to highlight his incredible talent as a fine art photographer. His stunning images are produced in limited edition prints on metal. The other focus was to reveal his remarkable project ‘The Imaginarium’. This impressive trilogy is a Dickens-style tale and told in a series of 150 fine art images in a trilogy or limited-edition books.
Have you ever wondered what was going on in the country and the world at the time that your favourite Britpop band formed and was releasing records? How did this impact their success? And what was one of the biggest reasons Oasis’ third album Be Here Now didn’t succeed as everyone expected.
Here you have the chance to find out. QG are working with the incredibly talented author, Tom Boniface-Webb and his trilogy of extended Britpop-bios that are perfect for fans and newcomers.
This collection, written back at the beginning of lockdown in March 2020 and then released in September, October, and December 2020. New Zealand based author Tom Boniface-Webb has released his trio of Britpop books, Modern Music Masters – the Britpop Trilogy: Oasis, Blur and Pulp. Described as the series of books he “would want to read if he was discovering music for the first time as a teenager”. The trilogy acts as an extended bio for the beloved Britpop bands, putting their history into the social context of that time.
At Quite Great, we pride ourselves on being able to work with not just musicians but charities, brands, inventors, tech companies, businesses, and event organisers! You name it, we’ve done it! Unlike many other ‘click-button’ agencies you may come across, we invest time and care to work with people. We make sure they are all at the very centre of what we do. A good example of this is the recent work we’ve done with The Bald Builders. The social media stars contacted us looking to make the break into the media work and Book PR beyond their existing followers.
Dmitry Art (Artyukhin) is a Doctor of Physics and Mathematics with over 15 years of experience in the IT industry. After that, Dmitry embarked on an artistic career six years ago. Artyukhin is a self-taught artist working on the concept of creating art through a sensitive transformation of emotions into colours.
Dmitry is an honest and passionate artist who truly believes that art can help us to create positive and powerful emotions. For example, when we sit in front of a piece of art that magically captures our attention it can ignite so many different emotions – all translated from the artist to us. German Expressionist artist Kandinsky reminded us how ‘The Artist must train not only his eye but also his soul’. His work seems to emanate from these precise thoughts.
As a result, in 2017 the book, ‘Emotional Paining: Amateur Reflection‘ by Dmitry Art (Artyukhin) was published. All focusing the final aim being to share the key concept of approach applied in creating artworks.
Paula Kerr’s inspirational book, Fitter Stronger: Resilience – If You’re Going Through Hell, Keep Going immediately grabbed us. Our team understood immediately that the book appealed to many different audiences. Paula undertook interviews across BBC Sounds for her Book PR. And, in her own words – “the books are now flying out!”
I worked with Quite Great for three months and the work they put in for me during such a short time was phenomenal. Within hours they'd set up interviews and articles in a very wide range of magazines and publications. Together with spots on local radio shows. They couldn't have done more for me and I was delighted with their service.
I am a published author and took on the services of Quite Great Book PR to promote my latest book, 'The Barbarossa Secret'. As a result of their input, my book achieved a best-selling status online. They secured press interest with interviews which gave me the essential exposure to achieve recognition. As a new writer without celebrity or selected publishing status from the giants in the industry, I was delighted that the team at Quite Great PR punched through! Getting me recognised whilst securing rave reviews for my work with one magazine stating "The best book we have read in years". I have no hesitation endorsing Quite Great because they have been just that, 'Great'! I am on facebook as an author at https://www.facebook.com/christopherkerrauthor and my website is www.christopher-kerr.co.uk
A friendly and enthusiastic group that worked hard on my behalf.
Working with Lisa is a joy as she understands my art and how I create it. My profile has been raised throughout the campaign. I am looking forward to the next phase of our relationship when my second book is published next year. Quite Great are good at what they do. To this end, Lisa excels by taking a personal interest in making sure her artists get the best coverage possible.
